NE Golden Sower Award

The Golden Sower Award Program is active throughout the year.The GSA calendar revolves around the annual nominee lists. To better understand the Golden Sower Award Program, a calendar is outlined below with links to additional information.
August/September	-Golden Sower Award Program Kick-Off -Publishers and Authors contacted by GSA Committee member
October	-NLA/NEMA Convention: Winning authors and illustrators are presented Golden Sower Award. -Ordering information for NEXT year's nominees list is posted on The Nugget web site under Nominees and Award Lists --Volunteers Needed! GSA manual work and student work for the web - Readers are busy reading the nominees!
November	-Voting Tallies/ Information posted on the web site for "early voters" under Voting Information -Golden Sower Award Committee Fall Meeting -Student participants are busy reading the nominees!
December/January	-Golden Sower Award Committee members remain busy! Assembling "volunteer readers" for selecting the NEXT group of nominees. You can help compile the list by suggesting titles. See Nominate a Title Planning and work to update the web site begins. Coordinating work on the manual
February	-Manual Pages are due to Manual Editor, Marci Retzlaff -Nominee Suggestions must be received by February 15th. Contact Shawna Lindner (Primary and Intermediate categories) and Toni Reese (YA category) -Student participants are busy reading the nominees!
March	-Keep reading the current nominees! Voting deadline is near! "Adult Volunteer Readers" receive reading lists
April	-Voting Deadline: All ballots must be counted and tallies received by April 15th. -Golden Sower Award Committee Spring Meeting
May	-Winners Announced May 1st! -Students' works for GSA web due
June	-Manuals for next program year are printed and ready for distribution -VOLUNTEER readers are busy reading!
July	NEW Nominee Lists are determined thanks to our volunteer readers. Libraries "gear up" for the next Golden Sower Award program to begin!
