Will Patti ever be good enough for her traditional immigrant Korean parents? All they want is for their daughter to perform well on the SATs and gain acceptance into Harvard, Princeton, or Yale.

Patti, a typical teen, loves playing the violin and is secretly crazy about the Boy Band, Jet Pack. She gets great grades, studies every night for the SATs, enjoys spending time with her friends, and tries her best to respect her parents even with their strict rules, like “no dating boys.”

But Cute Trumpet Guy, who has the most amazing green eyes, distracts her enough at auditions that Patti fails to win the position of concertmaster for the All-State orchestra, which she has held the past three years. Then Cute Trumpet Guy, Ben Wheeler, shows up at school and the two musicians develop a friendship based on a love of music.

Unfortunately, in order for Patti to spend time with Ben jamming or going to a rock concert, she has to break the rules and lie to her parents. It is Ben who encourages Patti to apply for acceptance into the exclusive Julliard School of Music. Although Patti’s crush turns out to be one-sided, Cute Trumpet Guy’s friendship and encouragement help boost Patti's confidence, as well as help her realize she should follow her heart and pursue what she loves.

What happens when Patti gets caught while out with Ben? What choice will Patti make – to follow her parent’s desires or follow her own love?
